Colt is 5 Months

It's been months since I have posted and lots has gone on. I've gone back to work, I've started a photography business, Colt started rolling over and even took his first bites. Wyatt turned four and Colt is now almost 6 months old. Wow is time flying.

Well, to document Colt's 5 month occasion (Aug 9th), I captured this beautiful image of him and Daddy. It depicts his personality to a tee. Not only do I love this photo, it has easily become the most favorite photo I have ever taken. So much so, I have decided to enter this image into the Click It Up A Notch August Photo contest. Wish me luck!

Click It Up A Notch

  7. Sorry...I meant to ask if you'd mind sharing how you took this, were you under them? I'm new to photography so it's all very fascinating to me. I'm thinking you weren't because the light is towards your sweet baby. Ya got me girl!

    1. Sure. I was laying on my back and my hubby stood a little above my head. It was around 7:00 pm and the sun was setting directly behind my hubby/baby. I shot with my 50mm 1.4 lens using an f-stop of 2.2. I then toggled my focus point to be on my son's eye which allowed my husband's shirt to fall slightly out of focus. My son's face was a little dark when I took the photo so had to lighten it just a little bit in post processing. Otherwise, everything else was done in camera. Hope that helps.
